War Department Says White House Coordinating Release of Never-Before-Seen UFO Material

Written by Christopher Sharp - 14 April 2026

A U.S. War Department official has told Liberation Times that the Pentagon’s dedicated UFO office is working with the White House and federal agencies to prepare the release of previously unseen Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) material.

The official added that the Department welcomes President Donald Trump’s initiative to turbocharge efforts to make UAP information more available to the public:

"The Department of War's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) is working in close coordination with the White House and across federal agencies to consolidate existing UAP records collections and facilitate the expeditious release of never-before-seen UAP information.

“Since the office was established, AARO has made progress to make UAP information available and transfer those records to the National Archives in accordance with federal law. We welcome the president's initiative to supercharge these efforts and make more UAP information available to the public as soon as possible."

In February 2026, President Trump announced that he would direct U.S. agencies, including the Department of War (DoW), to begin identifying and releasing government files related to the subject.

Yet nearly two months have passed since those remarks, with little visible public follow-through.

The limited public movement since those remarks now appears to be the focus of discussions between Trump and Congressman Tim Burchett.

Representative Burchett said in a recent interview that he urged President Trump to “peel back the layers of that onion” and let the public decide its own views on UAP.

In Burchett’s view, “we can handle it.”

He added that he had been briefed on some “wild things” that Americans need to know.

Another push came from Federal Secrets Task Force Chair Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who on 31 March 2026 wrote to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth requesting more than 46 UAP videos by 14 April 2026.

That deadline is now passing.

Commenting to Liberation Times, DoW spokesperson, Susan Gough stated, ‘As with all congressional correspondence, the Department of War will respond directly to the author of the letter.’

A Congressional source told Liberation Times, ‘The Department of War is in receipt of Rep. Luna’s letter and will provide a briefing in the future.’

However, Representative Luna hit out at the suggestion of a briefing, commenting on X:

‘No one from the Pentagon had responded until we reached out, and it appears that someone did not pass the letter to the appropriate authorities. How convenient. Nonetheless, we will be getting the requested list. We are not waiting for a briefing at some unspecified future date.’

Representative Luna added:

‘The Secretary of War is someone I consider a friend and someone who backs the President. The President has authorized the release, so whoever is trying to be cute at the Pentagon can take a hike.’

One source told Liberation Times that President Trump could theoretically directly declassify the videos requested by Representative Luna unilaterally.

In practice, however, the source said Trump would likely direct the originating agency to handle the declassification, allowing the materials to go through a sanitisation process to ensure national security is not compromised.

Speaking to Liberation Times about the footage, investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell said he was familiar with, and had directly viewed, most of the UAP video files requested by Luna:

“I am personally aware of - and have been directly exposed to - the majority of the UAP files referenced in the recent Congressional request. Along with George Knapp, I provided Congress not only with specific file names and their precise locations but also with additional military-filmed UAP assets that are not publicly listed, including numerous U.S. Air Force materials.

“We shared this information in good faith, expecting the Department of War to respond with full transparency to both Congress and the American people. The responsibility now rests squarely with them.

“I believe the President will do what he said. But if our elected representatives are denied complete and honest disclosure, then it will fall to independent journalism to ensure the public is properly informed - and that access to these materials is not improperly withheld. Sleeping Dog is coming at the center of that.”
