NASA Says Chief Did Not Confirm Agency Captured UFO Imagery, Citing His Use of the ‘Royal We’

Written by Christopher Sharp - 11 July 2026

NASA has pushed back after reports claimed Administrator Jared Isaacman revealed that NASA possesses images of unexplained objects, telling Liberation Times that he was speaking generally about military sensors, satellites and other cameras.

The clarification follows headlines from outlets portraying Isaacman’s recent comments as an admission that NASA itself had photographed unidentified objects.

The NASA administrator told podcast host Jack Gordon:

“We have captured imagery, and this is what President Trump is very forward-leaning about, that based on the data that we have within that imagery, we don't know what it is.”

However, in a statement provided to Liberation Times, NASA said Isaacman was employing the “royal we” and was not specifically referring to imagery collected by the civilian space agency.

A NASA spokesperson stated:

“In the full context of the interview, which you can listen to online, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman specifically states he has seen no evidence of things like UFOs.

“Later, he speaks generally about the myriad of ways the ‘royal we’ can/have captured Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon imagery, including from military sensors and other satellites out there, but not specifically saying these are things NASA has captured. And finally, in that context, he is talking about weird angles and sun reflections in imagery that is unexplained.”

During the wide-ranging discussion with Gordon on 30 June 2026, Isaacman added:

“I think there's a very real possibility we're going to arrive at a conclusion in our lifetime that perhaps there's life everywhere out there and that it isn't as infrequent as we might think it to possibly be.”

Isaacman also suggested that NASA may already have the proof in its possession, but that evidence is currently stuck on Mars.

He stated:

“We got samples on Mars right now. If we bring them back, there is a very high probability that they will point to, at some point, microbial life at least on Mars.”

The latest statements from Isaacman and NASA come amid new allegations concerning the Moon.

In a recent interview, Lue Elizondo, who previously led a Pentagon investigation into Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, stated

“There are also photographs that I don't believe have been made public yet that show, on the lunar surface, what appear to be large monolithic structures with right-angle cuts.”

Elizondo added:

“I believe those photographs, if they have not been released yet, may be released soon. But they are certainly very intriguing looking at these objects from space.”

Elizondo previously worked for To The Stars Academy, a UAP organisation founded by musician Tom DeLonge.

DeLonge has claimed that, while developing the initiative, he presented his UFO-related project to senior NASA figures and was subsequently directed to a meeting at NASA’s Ames Research Center.

According to DeLonge, the individual he met at Ames repeatedly described himself as a sceptic before eventually instructing an associate to “introduce him to the general.”

DeLonge said he was placed in contact with the general within hours and later credited that figure with helping him assemble an advisory group drawn from the space, intelligence and defence communities.

The general is understood to be retired U.S. Air Force General William ‘Neil’ McCasland, former commander of the Air Force Research Laboratory, who has been missing since leaving his Albuquerque home on 27 February 2026.

The fourth tranche of UAP files released yesterday by the Department of War included three NASA images that appeared to show a rotating triangular object in Earth’s orbit.

The accompanying commentary noted:

'During STS-80, between November 19 and December 7, 1996, astronauts aboard Space Shuttle Columbia captured a series of three images of an unidentified object in low-Earth orbit. In the second photograph, the object is visible near the center of the frame, to the right of the limb of the Earth. It appears to have rotated or tumbled about its major axis, which is consistent with the behavior of a free-floating object.'

The release also comes amid unresolved questions over how anomalous detections in space are handled and who ultimately controls the resulting data.

As previously reported by Liberation Times, veteran space operator Jim Shell has alleged - with what he described as medium confidence - that a concealed security control system within the US national-security space enterprise may be connected to UAP activity, potentially allowing anomalous orbital detections to be removed from standard catalogues before reaching operational commanders.

Shell alleged that the system was obstructing routine tracking of objects in orbit, and, in some cases, diverting data away from the very commands responsible for defending the nation.
